Goldendoodles are a specially bred mix of Golden Retrievers and Standard Poodles. This breeding gives them the friendly personality of the Retriever and the intelligence of the Poodle. Additionally they rarely shed and are considered 'hypoallergic' by many. 

Goldendoodles are extremely social, outgoing, non-aggressive dogs that thrive on human companionship. They have a great desire to please and to learn. Coupled with the low to non-shedding coats, this temperament has proven to make Goldendoodles perfect candidates for service work.

Sizes   

Petite range: Height: below 14 inches, typically 25 lbs. or less
Miniature range: Height: over 14 but under 17 inches at wither, typically 26-35 lbs.
Medium range: Height: over 17 but under 21 inches at wither, typically 36-50 lbs. 
Standard range: Height: over 21 inches at wither, typically 51 or more lbs.

The Goldendoodle Association of North America’s primary objective is to promote and guide the development of the Goldendoodle while maintaining optimum health, establishing reliability in health and temperament; and in coat and type for multigens. GANA Breeders have agreed to recommended levels of testing of their breeding stock (and they submit verification), and to keep genetic diversity in the breed by not breeding closely related dogs. They have an established registry to document ancestry, testing, and health of all generations of the breed. Recently GANA has worked hard to develop the first official breed standard. Note that it is not our goal to close the stud books; Poodle and Golden Retriever infusions are at the discretion of the individual breeder.
